Union Budget 2020 में नौकरीपेशा लोगों से जुड़े कई महत्वपूर्ण ऐलान किए गए हैं। टैक्स स्लैब में तो बदलाव किया ही गया है, पीएफ और एनपीएस जैसी योजना में निवेश पर मिलने वाले टैक्स छूट को भी सीमित कर दिया गया है।
वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने शनिवार को वर्ष 2020-21 का बजट पेश करते हुए नौकरीपेशा लोगों से जुड़े कई ऐलान किए। इनकम टैक्स स्लैब में तो बदलाव किए ही गए हैं, अब टैक्स छूट के लिहाज से ईपीएफ, एनपीएस जैसे साधनों में निवेश की सीमा तय कर दी गई है जिसकी वजह से इन पर भी टैक्स लगने की गुंजाइश बन गई है।
वित्त मंत्री ने अपने बजट भाषण में कहा कि टैक्स छूट के लिए कर्मचारी भविष्य निधि, नेशनल पेंशन सिस्टम और सुपरएनुएशन यानी रिटायरमेंट फंड में निवेश की संयुक्त ऊपरी सीमा 7.5 लाख रुपये तक कर दी है. इन तीनों में टैक्स छूट का फायदा मिलता है।
बजट डॉक्यूमेंट में कहा गया है, यह प्रस्ताव किया जाता है कि एक साल में कर्मचारी के खाते में नियोक्ता द्वारा भविष्य निधि सुपरएनुएशन फंड और एनपीएस में निवेश की ऊपरी सीमा 7.5 लाख रुपये तय किया जाए।
यह नया नियम 1 अप्रैल, 2021 से लागू होगा और आकलन वर्ष 2021-22 के लिए मान्य होगा। इसका मतलब यह है कि इन सभी योजनाओं में किसी कर्मचारी का एक साल में निवेश 7.5 लाख रुपये से ज्यादा है तो उस पर टैक्स लग जाएगा।
इसके पहले पीएफ और एनपीएस में नियोक्ता द्वारा किया जाने वाला निवेश पूरी तरह से टैक्स फ्री था और इसकी कोई सीमा नहीं थी। सिर्फ यह सीमा थी कि नियोक्ता कर्मचारी के सीटीसी वेतन के 12 फीसदी के बराबर पीएफ में योगदान करेगा।
गौरतलब है कि केंद्रीय वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण के आम करदाताओं को इस बजट से काफी उम्मीदें थीं, हालांकि वित्त मंत्री ने टैक्स स्लैब को लेकर जो उपाय किए हैं उससे लोगों का भ्रम बढ़ा है।
